Congratulations to Mr. Moore on being Mitchell County School's Principal of the Year! And congratulations to Mrs. Hoyle for being Deyton's Teacher of the Year!
Gary Moore has been principal in Mitchell County for 7
years. He has been at Deyton Elementary
for 5 years, and served 2 years at Mitchell High School. He taught math at Harris Middle School for 15
years before entering administration. He
received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Mars Hill College, and a Master of
Education from East Tennessee State University. Mr. Moore is married to Audrey Moore, who
taught for thirty one years in Yancey and Mitchell County Schools. He has 2 daughters, Kishia, a 1st
grade teacher at Greenlee Primary, and Danielle, who teaches Biotechnology at
Enka Middle School. Working at Deyton is
a wonderful opportunity, and any success I have had is attributed to a superb
faculty and staff.
Julie Hoyle teaches third grade
at Deyton Elementary School. This is her eleventh year
of teaching, and her eighth year at Deyton. She believes
Deyton is blessed with a great staff, faculty, and principal. In December 2000 Mrs. Hoyle graduated from
Appalachian State University. She is married to Andy Hoyle and
they have two wonderful sons. Caleb is a seventh grader at Harris Middle School, and Carter is a
second grader at Greenlee Primary. Mrs. Hoyle believes “teaching school is a
great occupation that is very rewarding, and each year is a new beginning and a
chance for great things!”
